GET INVOLVED
our Charity Initiative
We are currently working to set up a small charity that will support the work we do at the farm.
The charity will raise funds to enable children and young people to connect to nature and land based processes to improve their mental health and wellbeing, their knowledge of the natural world and their confidence in themselves.
In practical terms the money raised will subsidise school visits, help with school’s travel costs and support families that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford an experience like this for their children in the holidays.
We will be updating this section as we go.

YOGA
We have been very lucky to have Marie Glanfield teaching yoga sessions on Thursday evenings at the farm. In the easing of lockdown we started outdoors, on the lawn in front of the school house. As the weather begins to turn autumnal, we are beginning to move inside.
Marie trained to teach Hatha yoga in 2006 and has continued her yoga studies with many fantastic teachers from diverse backgrounds, to discover a deeper understanding of the art of yoga. “My approach is to inspire each individual to understand their own potential, spiritually and physically through developing a deep listening and receptive yoga practice.” For more information on Marie’s practices: @marie.glanfield.yoga www.marieglanfield.com

OUR WORKING FARM
Currently we have a flock of 17 sheep, a mixture of Dorset downs, Dorset x Jacob, and black welsh mountains. Our three ram lambs will head to the slaughter house in December, before our Jacob Ram, Buck comes to live with the breeding ewes once more. We won’t be putting our ewe lambs to the ram as we believe in waiting until they are a year and a half old.
Patti and Pan, our two gorgeous goats are fitting in well, quickly becoming inseparable from Lily. You may turn a corner and the three of them are heading off for a tour of the fields or getting down to some good old fashioned weeding. They are also brilliant with the children, endlessly curious and playful, especially if they all have carrots on their hands!
Lily is preparing to welcome some young heifer calves in October. She will be hand rearing them, with the help of the visiting children through the winter.
We have harvested our first cut silage and our wild oats, we have hauled the winter straw into the barn, filling it from top to bottom and are now waiting to harvest the spring barley to see us right till spring.
