Special Educational needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental health (S.E.M.H) issues
Here at Tokes Farm, we work with the knowledge that every child is unique, bringing different qualities that we will nurture and care for. For some children there are various areas where they will struggle more than the rest. The 2014 SEND Code of practice identifies them as 4 broad areas of need:
Communication and interaction
Cognition and learning
Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
Sensory and/or physical needs
All the staff that will be working with groups at Tokes Farm have experience of working with children and young adults with varying additional needs. In initial conversations with teachers and parents intending to bring their children to the farm, we will ask if there are any additional needs that need support and plan accordingly.
Our safeguarding policy will always be accessible on request, whether digitally or in physical form at the farm.
